Career in textiles

Every guide on this site comes from this background: years on the dye-house floor, then in fabric development and shade approval.

  1. 2012

    B.Sc. in Textile Engineering

University of Chittagong, specialising in Wet Processing Technology: the science of dyeing, printing and finishing fabric.

  2. June 2012

    Engineer, dyeing

Joined a dyeing operation as an engineer, controlling dyeing processes and advising across textile production.

  3. 2012–2017

Production Officer, then Senior Production Officer

Ran day-to-day dyeing production: batches, machines, recipes and the quality checks that decide whether a fabric passes.

  4. July 2017 – now

    Assistant Manager, Dyeing & Development

Develops new fabrics, builds dye recipes, approves shades and works on functional finishes.

  5. Today

    Founder, TOZAHIDA

An Australian lingerie and clothing brand built on the same fabric standards, sold through Amazon.com.au.

What I know best

Dyeing and colour

Why colours fade, bleed or turn patchy, and how to choose fabrics that keep their shade.

Fibres and fabrics

Silk, linen, cotton, modal, lyocell, wool and synthetics: what each fibre does on your skin.

Finishes

Softening, water-repellent, wicking and UV finishes: what they do and how long they last.

Care and washing

How heat, detergent and friction damage fabric, and the simple habits that make clothes last.

How I choose products

I read the material composition on every product I recommend, not just the title, and I only recommend other brands when the fabric and construction pass the same checks I use at work. I look for premium pieces that will last, and I say so when a product has a weakness, such as dry-clean-only care or a blended fibre.

Honesty first

Some links earn a small commission from Amazon at no cost to you, and every article that contains them says so at the top. TOZAHIDA products are my own brand and are clearly marked. A commission never decides what I recommend.
